Privacybeleid
Laatste wijziging: 15 september 2026 (Data Safety-reconciliatie)
- Live positiebewaking van voertuigen en medewerkers;
- Automatisch afvinken van aandachtspunten op een route;
- Vastlegging van bewijs en rithistorie;
- Analyse van rijgedrag en routeplanning.
2f. Analytics, spraak en crashrapportage
De app maakt gebruik van:
- Firebase Analytics — anonieme gebruiksstatistieken (schermweergaven, gebruiksfrequentie).
3. Grondslag voor verwerking
Wij verwerken persoonsgegevens op basis van:
- Uitvoering van overeenkomst — om de dienst te leveren aan uw organisatie;
- Gerechtvaardigd belang — verbetering van veiligheid en routeoptimalisatie;
- Wettelijke verplichting — waar van toepassing.
4. Bewaartermijnen
- Locatiegegevens per rit en live-positie: bewaard tot verwijdering door de beheerder of tot beëindiging van de organisatieaccount; automatische opschoning na een vaste termijn is nog niet ingericht;
- Foto's bij meldingen: bewaard tot verwijdering door de beheerder of tot beëindiging van de organisatieaccount;
- Accountgegevens: bewaard zolang het account actief is; na een verwijderverzoek wordt het account verwijderd of gedeactiveerd volgens de dan beschikbare verwijderroute;
- Crashlogs: maximaal 90 dagen bewaard door Firebase Crashlytics.
5. Beveiliging
- Toegangscontrole via Firebase Security Rules (per organisatie geïsoleerd);
- Authenticatie via Firebase Auth vóór elke schrijf- of leesbewerking;
- Periodieke beveiligingsreview van Firestore-regels.
- Google LLC (Firebase, Google Maps, Crashlytics) — gevestigd in de VS, adequaatheidsbesluit of SCCs van toepassing;
- OpenFreeMap / OpenStreetMap tile-endpoints — kaarttegels (IP-adres en tegelverzoeken);
- PDOK Luchtfoto — luchtfototegels wanneer de optionele luchtfotolaag aanstaat (IP-adres en tegelverzoeken);
- PDOK Locatieserver — adres zoeken op de kaart en adressen bij GPS-punten, in de app en het dashboard (IP-adres, de zoekterm en de eigen positie om adressen in de buurt bovenaan te zetten);
- Overpass API en OSRM — route- en kaartcontext op basis van coördinaten/verzoekmetadata;
- 3DBAG data-endpoints — gebiedsdata op basis van kaart-bounding-boxen;
- Mapillary (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) — bestaande straatbeelden bij het startpunt van een route of de positie van een marker. Onze backend stuurt daarvoor uitsluitend de coördinaten en een zoekstraal (maximaal 50 meter) naar Mapillary; er gaan geen gebruikersgegevens, IP-adressen van toestellen of foto's van VeegTracker naar Mapillary;
- Inzage — opvragen welke gegevens wij van u verwerken;
- Rectificatie — onjuiste gegevens laten corrigeren;
- Verwijdering — verzoek tot wissen van uw persoonsgegevens;
- Beperking — verwerking laten beperken;
- Bezwaar — bezwaar maken tegen verwerking op grond van gerechtvaardigd belang;

Privacy policy
Last updated: 15 September 2026 (Data Safety reconciliation)
This privacy policy describes how VeegTracker Pro collects, uses and protects personal data in connection with the mobile app (Android) and the web dashboard. By using VeegTracker Pro you agree to this policy.
1. Who are we?
VeegTracker Pro is an application for route management and task allocation in municipal field services (street sweepers, green maintenance and the like). The controller for the processing of personal data is the organisation that deploys VeegTracker Pro. For questions about this policy, please contact us at the e-mail address at the bottom of this page.
2. What data do we collect?
2a. Location data
The app continuously collects GPS location data while a driver is carrying out a run, including when the app is active in the background. During the run the position is written to Firebase Firestore continuously (every few seconds) and is visible live to planners and managers of the same organisation; recording stops as soon as the driver ends the run or signs out. Location data is used for:
- Live position monitoring of vehicles and staff;
- Automatically checking off points of attention on a route;
- Recording evidence and run history;
- Analysis of driving behaviour and route planning.
2b. Photos and media
Drivers can take photos of situations in the field (reports, damage, proof of work). These photos are stored in Firebase Cloud Storage and are visible to managers within the same organisation.
2c. User accounts
On registration and sign-in we process your name, e-mail address and a unique user ID via Firebase Authentication. Google sign-in credentials are managed by Google; see the Google privacy policy for more information.
2d. Organisation data
Organisation name, vehicles, routes, tasks and operational logs are stored in Firebase Firestore, separated per organisation through a secure tenant structure.
2e. Device and notification data
To pair devices and send operational notifications we process technical data such as a device ID (an app-specific UUID), device type, battery status, push token and presence/status during an active run.
2f. Analytics, speech and crash reporting
The app uses:
- Firebase Analytics — anonymous usage statistics (screen views, frequency of use). No sales analytics shared with third parties.
- Firebase Crashlytics — automatic crash reports including device type, OS version and stack trace. Personal data is included as little as possible.
- PDOK Locatieserver (Kadaster) — addresses for GPS points and address search in the app and the dashboard. The point's coordinates or the search term, plus the IP address, are sent to PDOK; no account or key is sent along. See the PDOK privacy policy .
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — sends push notifications based on a device-bound push token.
- Firebase App Check (Play Integrity) — checks device integrity to limit misuse of API routes.
- Android SpeechRecognizer — optional speech input for task text; the recognised text is only used within the app flow.
3. Legal basis for processing
We process personal data on the basis of:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the service to your organisation;
- Legitimate interest — improving safety and route optimisation;
- Legal obligation — where applicable.
4. Retention periods
- Location data per run and live position: kept until deleted by the manager or until the organisation account ends; automatic clean-up after a fixed period has not yet been set up;
- Photos attached to reports: kept until deleted by the manager or until the organisation account ends;
- Account data: kept for as long as the account is active; after a deletion request the account is deleted or deactivated using the deletion route available at that time;
- Crash logs: kept for up to 90 days by Firebase Crashlytics.
5. Security
All data is transmitted encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. Storage takes place on Google Cloud (Firebase) with:
- Access control via Firebase Security Rules (isolated per organisation);
- Authentication via Firebase Auth before every write or read operation;
- Periodic security review of the Firestore rules.
6. Sharing with third parties
We do not share your data with third parties for commercial purposes. To provide the service, data is processed by the following parties/recipients:
- Google LLC (Firebase, Google Maps, Crashlytics) — based in the US, adequacy decision or SCCs apply;
- Google Cloud Run — hosting infrastructure for the backend API.
- OpenFreeMap / OpenStreetMap tile endpoints — map tiles (IP address and tile requests);
- PDOK aerial imagery — aerial tiles when the optional imagery layer is enabled (IP address and tile requests);
- PDOK Locatieserver — address search on the map and addresses for GPS points, in the app and the dashboard (IP address, the search term and the own position to rank nearby addresses first);
- Overpass API and OSRM — route and map context based on coordinates/request metadata;
- 3DBAG data endpoints — area data based on map bounding boxes;
- Mapillary (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) — existing street-level images at the starting point of a route or the position of a marker. For this, our backend sends only the coordinates and a search radius (at most 50 metres) to Mapillary; no user data, device IP addresses or VeegTracker photos are sent to Mapillary;
- The LLM provider behind the cloud agent (only if actively configured, for example OpenAI) for AI features such as photo/text classification. Without an active provider key, this external transfer is not used.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the following rights:
- Access — ask which data we process about you;
- Rectification — have incorrect data corrected;
- Erasure — request deletion of your personal data;
- Restriction — have processing restricted;
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest;
- Portability — receive your data in a commonly used format.
You can submit requests via the contact address at the bottom of this page or via /account-verwijderen. We respond within 30 days. Please note: the current backend deletes the user account immediately, but does not automatically delete all historical operational records; that follow-up step is done manually per request and organisation.
8. Children
VeegTracker Pro is intended exclusively for use by employees and staff of organisations. The app is not aimed at children under the age of 16.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The date of the last change is shown at the top of this page. In case of significant changes we inform users via the app or by e-mail.
